A Rug Fit For A King

Adam got his ladder and now I am starting to collect 'stuff' for the most fun part of owning a house-decorations! I do realize that not every room and wall need to be decorated right away and fully expect rooms to be bare for awhile! One thing we DO need fairly soon is an area rug for the living room. We have wood floors and I would hate to see the beautiful wood floors get all scratched up by the furniture! We have been looking for great deals on everything and jumping on them when we find something great! We came across this rug the other day online. With a coupon and a great sale we got it. The color is called "Kings Gold" and so while the picture on line showed a tan rug we were nervous that it would be more gold. When it showed up I loved it and then I rolled it out on the floor and I am not so sure about the color. We have 90 days to return it so I am going to wait a bit. What do you think? Too gold with the brown furniture and dark brown wood floors?

We also found this shag carpet that we can get for the same price as the rug. We would get the edges finished so it would look like a rug!
