Slow and Steady Wins the Race

Things have slowed down a tiny bit (like 1 day between changes), but I know they will keep progressing. This weekend we went back to the design center to see some of our options and check out the brand of carpet (It's Shaw in the Tassel color). We also stopped by the house briefly and noticed they had "tapped and puddied" the dry wall. Here are some of the photos we took:

Mr. Gorbachev, Put Up This Wall!

-Ronald Reagan, after the Berlin Wall was torn down.

Ronald's quote was a little different, but this will work in our situation because WE HAVE WALLS! Our house is in the beginning stages of dry wall! It is neat to actually walk into a ROOM and not see into another room! After our frame tour yesterday, we are still on track for 9/21 to move in! They also have already started fixing some concerns that we had brought up! The pictures are not fantastic because we stopped by after our softball game and only had our cell phones! Take a look!

And They Huffed and They Puffed and They Didn't Blow the House Down

If you do not have any idea what I am talking about in the headline, I am referring to the tale of the three little pigs! I believe the second house was made of bricks?! I never really knew the "life lesson" that was being told in the story until I actually stopped to think about it today-whatever you do, do it the best that you can because that is the way to get along in this world. Anyway, enough about those pigs, OUR BRICK IS FINISHED! Here are some complete pictures!

Love the detail above the windows and garage.

We had our frame walk through today and found this in the entry way!

It's a beaut!

Follow the Red Brick House

After being gone in Dallas all weekend we came back to find that a majority of the house had been bricked. We also saw that the interior had been lined with insulation. Tomorrow we have our frame tour with the builder to go through and make sure everything is being built right and that any mistakes thus far are corrected. Things are looking good and we are excited that moving time is soon!

Brick house! The top part where it is still black will be siding. We picked out a dark brown.

I love the address plate!

I also love the brick color!

It's A Briiiiiiiick House!

Our brick came! Our brick came! Our brick came!

Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire

Not much had changed since Monday when we visited last night. Basically they cleaned up all the wires so they were a little less scary and unorganized. The only sort of big thing I noticed was the fireplace had arrived and was installed. The house across the street that has had the same progress as us had brick sitting out front and so we are hoping our brick gets here sometime this weekend. We are suppose to have our "frame tour" on Tuesday and are suppose to have brick for that tour, so cross your fingers! The closing agent contacted us yesterday with dates for closing, we are currently looking at September 21 to close the house! That means it will be done around September 1! Before we take over ownership we would have to get it inspected, have a finished tour and allow them time to make everything perfect before we move in! It is crazy to have a secure date to look forward to.

Organized-That's what I like to see!

Every time we go to the house we always take Cooper to the dog park right after. Last night he had a sad moment-the park was closed and he couldn't play with his new friend, McKenna, the 5 month old German Shepherd!
McKenna and Cooper on Monday! (He is a little embarrassed I take so many pictures of him in front of his friends!)
